Welcome to Urban Dog
A Resource for New York City Dog Owners
Welcome to Urban Dog! We hope this site will soon be the go-to resource for New York City dog owners who want their info served up with a personal touch.
Like nearly a million New Yorkers, we own a pet. We’re the doting, no, obsessed, parents of a Weimaraner named “Starwood’s Bodhidharma,” the offspring of “GCH CH Starwood’s Summer in Paris” and “Starwood’s Victorian Rose.”
We just call him Bodhi, for short.

While we don’t claim to be experts on things like dog behavior, dog health, dog training, or pet laws, we do cop to being incredibly passionate dog enthusiasts. We know the extreme joys of having a pet. But we’ve also encountered a host of unique challenges that only dog owners in an urban environment will face.

From time to time, we will turn to the experts for advice and insight. But for the most part, our goal as dog-loving bloggers is to engage, enlighten, and entertain. We understand the things dog owners want to know about. That’s why our topics will run the gamut from health issues to doggie transportation. We’ll write about pet allergies, dog runs, pet events. adoption, and dog poop. (Sorry about that last one: if you’re new dog owners, you’ll learn soon enough just how important dog doo is!) We’ll also help you navigate the world of pet friendly real estate in New York: where to find pet friendly apartments, dealing with condo and co-op boards, and so much more.

In addition to being aggregators, re-posters, re-Tweeters, re-Instagrammers (is that a even a thing?) we also plan on publishing original content each and every week.
Lots of great information awaits you for sure, but while our goal is to inform, we’re certainly not opposed to posting pics of cute puppies.
Why?
Because everyone loves cute puppy pics!
(And, they boost productivity! But that’s a topic for a later post!)

Our dream is to be the definitive online resource for all you New York City dog owners.
Please come back and visit us again and again.
