Paws4You Rescue’s Howl-O-Ween Carnival
Halloween Dog Costume Contest
This weekend I was a judge for the costume contest at Paws4You Rescue’s Eight Annual How-O-Ween Carnival at Pinecrest Gardens.
The event featured many dogs available for adoption, including the adorable puppy you see above. Proceeds from the festival benefit hundreds of dogs saved by Paws4You Rescue each year from the threat of euthanasia in southern Miami-Dade, the county’s highest-risk area.
Guests enjoyed vendors, food and refreshments, music, live entertainment, arts and crafts, games, and a Doggie Fun Zone: a thrilling and entertaining obstacle course for dogs with no prior training needed.
But the highlight was the Costume Contest!
This young lady and her pup were winners for their costume inspired by the Pixar film Up.
The judges included local celebrities.
Another winning entry: an artist and her “palette!”
Here are contest Master of Ceremonies Rob Magill from Zoo Miami and Little Bo Peep.
This “manatee” was my pick for “Most Original” costume.
Here are Clark, Bodhi, and two of my fellow judges, philanthropist Norma Jean Abraham and Time Out Miami editor Virginia Gil.
Bodhi, as usual, is exhibiting “Crazy Weim Eyes!”
