New York Comic Con Dogs
Cosplay for Canines
Each year New York Comic Con, a celebration of things geeky and nerdy gets bigger and bigger. I’ve been going off and on over the years, and one thing I’ve noticed is that the cosplaying attendees have been steadily upping their game each year. I “hear” some of you out that muttering to yourselves “what’s ‘cosplaying?'”
Cosplay is the practice of dressing up in costume as characters from (mostly American and Japanese) movies, comics, animation, and video games. Costume + Play = Cosplay!
In 2018 even canine nerds got in on the act.
This Yorkshire Terrier channeled the Amazing Amazon, Wonder Woman.
This Chihuahua, named appropriately Bruce Wayne, got to pose with Jason Momoa, the star of the new Aquaman movie. Excuse me while I geek out here, take a look at this footage. It’s amazing.
I met Bruce Wayne at the Blog Paws convention in Kansas City this year. That dog certainly gets around.
These Samoyeds showed up as Luigi and Mario from the Mario Bros video games.
And Charlie the Wheaten Terrier posed with the X-Men’s Mystique…
… and Iron Man and some weird Wonder Woman / Harley Quinn hybrid!
Regular readers of this blog know that I am a big fan of comics and animation. For some more posts on dogs, comics, and cartoons, click here, here, and here.
