BOO!
Barktober is upon us with a host of parades, blessings, costume contests, activities, tricks and treats. Costume parades, film festivals, adoption events and a little spiritual insurance for your dog are all in the line-up.

The 29th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade is back! After a year off, the parade will be held at a new location: East River Park Amphitheater. CNN calls the event “the largest dog costume parade in the world.”

St. Francis, patron saint of animals and the environment, is celebrated this month. Bring your dog for the pet blessing ceremony at St. John the Divine in Manhattan) or St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn.
Fall into fall and take your pet to the 17th Annual My Dog Loves Central Park Fair.
