Doberman Pinscher Wins Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
Penny, a four-year-old Doberman Pinscher took the top prize at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show last night.
It’s the fifth time a Dobie has taken the top prize, the last time was in 1989.
Dogs Wanted for The Dog Aging Project’s TRIAD Program
The Dog Aging Project has a program that is actively recruiting dogs in New York City and environs. That’s the Test of Rapamycin in Aging Dogs, or TRIAD. It’s designed to study the effects of rapamycin on slowing the aging process in dogs.
150th Edition of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
The 150th edition of America’s most famous dog show starts this month on Saturday, January 31 and continues on Monday, February 2 and Tuesday, February 3.
Daytime sessions are being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on Manhattan’s far West Side; the evening sessions will be held at Madison Square Garden.
10th Annual NY Dog Film Festival
The tenth edition on the NY Dog Film Festival takes place on Saturday, October 26 at Symphony Space in Manhattan.
According to festival organizers: “Audiences will enjoy dozens of touching, inspiring short films – narrative, documentary, and animated – from around the world, while contributing directly to the welfare of vulnerable animals by supporting organizations such as Animal Lighthouse Rescue.”

New York City Halloween Dog Parades and Parties
Halloween is a big time for folks who love to dress their dogs up in costumes!
New York City has been home to one of the biggest Halloween costume dog parades in the world for 34 years: the Tompkins Square Dog Parade. Will there be a 35th edition?
