October 5, 2021I don't usually include non-New York City events in the Urban Dog calendar, but this Somerset, New Jersey event seems interesting!
The Morris & Essex dog show is called the "Bridgadoon" of dog shows because it only happens every five years. It's super fancy (and fancy to mount... hence why it happens so infrequently.) And it attracts the cream of the dog crop and lots and lots of fancy hats!

October 8, 2021Join The Museum of the Dog for a talk with New York Therapy Animals (NYTA) Executive Director, Nancy George-Michalson. Complementing the current exhibition which highlights the work of search and rescue canines, this talk invites discussion to show how dogs can be used to assist their human counterparts as therapy dogs. Continuing the conversation of the human canine bond, this presentation will highlight the mission of NYTA and even have a team onsite to discuss their own experiences with the organization.
